In-N-Out Burger “Cover to Cover Club” Reading Program
For youth ages 4-12. Bring the kids to register & receive their reading log at the front desk or Children’s Reference Desk. After reading 5 books, bring the completed reading log to the Children’s Reference to receive a certificate for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at any In-N-Out Burger. Children may receive up to 3 certificates during the program.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays (No class on 11/26 and 11/27)
12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Free Citizenship Class. Register in class or call 619-388-1800 for registration information. Instructors suggest taking citizenship classes before you send your application for naturalization. At this class you will: Practice for naturalization interview; learn the 100 questions asked at the interview; and improve English listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Fundamentals of Art for Ages 8+
First Wednesdays, 4pm-5pm
Leo Angelo Reyes is a local artist from Mira Mesa. In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of art and create your own masterpieces. For ages 8+ and serious artists. Space is limited. Online registration is required at sandiego.librarymarket.com/fundamentals-art-3. Materials are provided.
Tech Teachings: Learn the Basics About Computers
Every Monday from September to November, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (No class on 11/11 and 11/25)
Join us for a free program that meets once a week for 1 hour at the library’s Computer Lab. The program will go over the basics on how to use a computer in a fun and easy-to-learn environment. The Wonders of Physiology and Medicine: The Respiratory System
Wednesday, November 13 at 3 p.m. – 4p.m.
The Community Health and Science Education (C.H.A.S.E.) program is an exciting opportunity to discover the wonders of human physiology and medicine. This workshop will focus on the structure and function of the respiratory system and related conditions such as asthma, COPD, and lung cancer. Participants will earn a certificate! For 8th-12th Graders. Limit 10. This workshop will be held at the Teen Area. ADMIT ONE Parent Night
Interested parents and students can learn more about the ADMIT ONE program! Let San Diego Public Libraries assist you in preparing for the transition from high school to college through the Admit One College Prep Academy! Admit One provides an advantage on SAT & ACT test preparation. A partnership between the San Diego Public Library, UC San Diego Extension Pre-College Programs, and Cal-SOAP to help high school students prepare for college exams and navigating the college process. The Green Thumbs: A Children’s Garden Club!
Monday, November 18 at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Green Thumbs returns starting on Monday, November 18th at the Inner Garden and will continue every other Monday! Exposure to nature through play leads to exploration and discovery, engaging both the physical and mental abilities of children. This program is for kids to learn about the environment, gardening and how to care for the earth! For 18 months – 8 years of age. No registration is required. However, Parent must attend with child.
History of the Holidays with Ms. Karin: Thanksgiving

Academic Enrichment/Homework Assistance
Every Wednesday at 6:00p.m. – 7:30p.m. (No program on 11/27)
Speak to our homework coaches about helping your child complete their homework and improve their academic skills in math, reading, writing, and science! Free academic enrichment for students 1st-10th grade. Students must be 7 years or older. No registration necessary. This program is located at the Teen Area and facilitated by high school students, college students and post-college volunteers.

Introduction to 3D Printing
Saturday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Learn about 3D printing, tutorials to 3D Printing software, and how to expand your creativity using this emerging technology! Projects will be printed offsite and can be picked up at a future meeting. Aimed at kids ages 8 – 17. Pre-registration is required and each participant must bring their own laptop and charging cable. Program Your Future: Introduction to Front End Web Technologies
Every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (except Sunday, November 24th)
This program is for students 9th-12th grade and their parents. Students will receive instruction from local industry experts using UC San Diego Extension curriculum. This educational approach provides students with the foundational skillset required for professional opportunities, internships and collegiate pursuits-whatever their goals may be. Students need to complete all three courses in a 9 month period to earn certificate.

Craft Circle Café
Every Monday at 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (No program on 11/11)
If you like DIY craft projects AND socializing with other crafters please join us for Craft Circle Cafe. Bring your own project – scrapbooking, needlework, knitting, coloring or work on the project being presented. Drop in for a short time or stay the entire time. Plenty of table space and some materials/supplies will also be available. Want to learn something new? Create family photo albums? Make a special card for someone? Someone will be available to offer suggestions and assistance.

The Mira Mesa Town Council meets on the first Monday of every month with two exceptions: no meeting in July; and the second Monday if the first Monday is a holiday.
McAllister Free Housing and Shelter Information

Funded by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, the McAlister Institute provides free housing and shelter assistance information. The information is presented in front of the library at a resource table with a representative available to assist you. Assistance is provided to people looking for Housing and/or Shelter information, Volunteer/Employment Referrals, Drug and/or Alcohol Recovery Programs, and other valuable community resources. Quilling with Mona
