“The Volunteer Tutors,” a growing team of 15 or more Mira Mesa High School students and alumni with skills in a wide range of subjects, is now available for virtual tutoring to assist students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The group aims in particular to help those who may be struggling with the transition to online learning. During the past school year the group’s tutors have helped approximately 20 students from Sandburg Elementary and Mira Mesa High School, working in regular Zoom sessions 2-3 times per week.
According to co-organizer Sabrina Bazzo, Mira Mesa High School Foundation Community Liaison, all the group’s tutors are committed to helping students during the summer months, and they would like to reach out to other school neighborhoods, as well. Anyone with children grades K – 12 who might need some extra help to keep up their skills, or for more information in general, can contact Sabrina Bazzo, sabrinabazzo@gmail.com, 618-540-6307.
