Mira Mesa Community Planning Group via Zoom. Public welcome! The agenda and a link to register to attend will be posted a few days ahead of time at: https://www.miramesatowncouncil.org/mira-mesa-community-planning-group/ The Mira Mesa Community Planning Group has the responsibility to write (with the aid of the City) community plans, recommend changes to community plans, and evaluate projects as they are proposed for consistency with the Mira Mesa Community Plan. The Planning Group has 11 residential, 5 business and 3 property owner members. Planning Group members are elected to four-year terms, with half elected every two years. Two of the property owner members are appointed by the Planning Group.  NOTE: There will NOT be a Mira Mesa Community Plan Update subcommittee meeting in March 2021.

Tuesday, March 30, via Zoom 6:30pm
The Mira Mesa Library’s Banned Book Club will meet via Zoom on Tuesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. The book club will discuss If on a winter’s night a traveler, by Italo Calvino, a metafictional novel where you as the reader become a character who starts to read a book and later meet another character whom you fall in love with. The first part of each chapter is written in the second person (“you”) and examines the process of reading. In the second part of each chapter you start to read a new book you discover is
related to the main narrative.

The Mira Mesa Branch Library is holding 2 copies of the title at the Circulation Desk – call the library at 858-538-8165 to pick one up for check-out. If you would enjoy joining in the discussion, or simply sitting in and listening, please email book group facilitator Pam Stevens, pstevens@san.rr.com, by Sunday, March 28 at 6 p.m. for the meeting ID.

MMHS Students in “Rose Parade’s New Year Celebration” TV Special
Mira Mesa High School Sapphire Sound Marching Band and Color Guard seniors are featured among the
high school and college students from around the country whose virtual performance of “Everything’s
Coming Up Roses” will appear in the 2-hour television special, “Rose Parade’s New Year Celebration
presented by Honda,” 8am to 10am PST, on ABC, Hallmark Channel, KTLA, NBC, and RFD-TV. Watch for
them! MMHS Sapphire Sound director Jeanne Christensen and Sapphire Sound students and parents are
now preparing to take part in the 2022 Rose Parade.

is open Monday through Saturday for limited indoor services as well as contact-free pickup outdoors, 9:30am – 5:30pm. Everyone welcome! The library currently has two of the book on hold at the
Circulation Desk which you can check out. You can do that as a walk-in or by calling the library at 858-
538-8165 with your library card number from the parking lot and collecting it at the contact-free pick-up

Mira Mesa Library Banned Book Club discusses Where the Crawdads Sing, by by Delia Owens. 2018 novel which follows two timelines that slowly intertwine. Story involves an unforgettable young woman determined to make her way in the wilds of North Carolina, and the two men that will break her isolation open. Everyone welcome!
