Mira Mesa Town Council Meeting
Monday, May 2nd, 7pm – 9pm on ZOOM
The Mira Mesa Town Council current meets at the Mira Mesa Branch Library with a ZOOM option. Go to http://www.miramesatowncouncil.org and look for the March Meeting agenda for the link to register. Town Council meets on the first Monday of every month with two exceptions: no meeting in July; and the second Monday if the first Monday is a holiday.

Look! Over there! Coming out of that library! It’s  . . . BOOKMAN! Using the superpower of reading, BOOKMAN has magically traveled all around the world – even into space! He’s met talking animals, visited amazing places, and you can only imagine the fantastic things he’s seen! Come join BOOKMAN while he reads about his next adventure!

Beyond the Playground Storytime @ Mira Mesa Community Park North
Every Wednesday, 10:30am – 11:30am at the Mira Mesa Community Park North
Join us Beyond the Playground at the picnic area of the Park and Rec Center for a fun hour of songs and stories with Auntie Hazel.  Bring chairs or blankets and enjoy this spring time treat.  All ages are welcome. No registration required. This event is held at the Mira Mesa Community Park North, near the playground area, across the street from the Library and the Fire Station. Mira Mesa Community Park North is located on 8520 New Salem Street, San Diego, CA 92126. **Program is subject to change.

Conversational ESL
Every Wednesday, 12pm – 1pm at the Outer Patio
Join us at our courtyard for casual, friendly conversation designed to increase participants’ comfort with the English language and make new friends.

Chess Club for all ages
Every Thursday, 3pm – 5pm in the Outdoor Patio
All levels of Chess experience are welcome – beginners to advanced. Players of all ages are welcome. Registration is not required.

The Green Thumbs: A Children’s Garden Club
Second Friday of the month (May 13), 10am – 11am at the Outdoor Patio
Exposure to nature through play leads to exploration and discovery, engaging both the physical and mental abilities of children. This program is for kids to learn about the environment, gardening and how to care for the earth! For 18 months – 8 years of age. No registration is required. However, parent must
attend with child.

Paws to Read
First and Third Saturday of the month (May 7 and 21), 11am – 12pm at the Outdoor Patio Join us for the return of Therapy Dogs to the Library! Children are invited to read to and interact with certified therapy dogs to build reading confidence and enjoy their puppy time.

VIRTUAL Banned Book Club via ZOOM: Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters
Tuesday, May 24, from 6:30pm-8pm on ZOOM
Please join other book loving community members for the monthly meeting of the Banned Book Club.  This month we will be reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville. There will 2 copies held for book members at the library. If they like to join the discussion, please have patrons email book club facilitator Pam Stevens at pstevens@san.rr.com to get the ZOOM link no later than Sunday, April 24.
